Excellent media coverage was given to “Chile’s Week of Architecture, Engineering and Infrastructure” held from July 5 to 9, 2010, organized by ProChile, CORFO’s Committee of Sector Brands and the Association of Chilean Architects Offices (AOA). During those days a delegation of Chilean architects showed the strengths and competitive advantages of “Chile’s Architecture” in a series of conferences and seminars that took place at the Expo Shanghai in Beijing.

Each of these events was attended by some of the most important Chinese media, including Radio China International; TV channels CCTV and ICS; news agencies Xinhua and China News; newspapers People’s Daily, Shanghai Morning Post, JieFang Daily, Wenhui Daily; and specialized magazines DOMUS, Abitare, Architecture Technique, Time + Architecture and Construction Time, among others.

“We had spectacular coverage, which shows the good reception in China of our architecture,” said Fernando Marin, head of the project “Chile’s Architecture” in China. “The media were able to perceive the good quality and international potential of the work done by our offices in recent years.”

There were more than 100 appearances in the media, both regionally and nationally, all of which highlighted the main characteristics of “Chile’s Architecture”, especially emphasizing its sustainability and anti-seismic design.

Following are some comments made by the media: “Experience the miracle of anti-seismic architecture” (Radio China International), “Chile shares with China the miracle of its anti-seismic architecture” (China Daily), “Chile shows the advantages of its anti-seismic architecture” (Wenhui Daily), “Solid rock: Chilean professionals brought their experience in building modern, resistant cities” (Global Times) and “A strong country in the seismic belt” (Shanghai Science & Technology News).

Also, during August and September, more than 15 specialized magazines will publish articles providing detailed information about “Chile’s Architecture”, among them, DOMUS, DI, Abitare, Art & Design and Vision, just to name a few.
